Inspired by Michel Foucaults theory of Heterotopian space I have been questioning the possibility of finding Heterotopia within modern day environment. Heterotopia describes places and spaces that function in various conditions. These are spaces of otherness, which are neither here nor there, that are simultaneously physical and mental, such as the space of a phone call or the moment when you see yourself in the mirror. With this I tried to reflect upon modern day communication. What is a space of a phone call today, the space of internet and wireless? How many parallel spaces our mind unconsciously enters while being occupied with contemporary communication devices?
This film depicts spaces of illusion we simultaneously invade every day and strives for making people conscious of their own imagination.
